Multi-material injection molding combines two materials within a single molding cycle. Processes that once required two machines and manual assembly can be integrated into one machine, reducing steps and floor space.

P Parallel Multi-Material Series: Clear Separation, Precise Molding

For parts with clearly defined color or material zones, the coordination of the two injection units, injection control, and mold positioning all affect interface quality and production consistency.

 

The P Series features two independently controlled injection units in a parallel layout, working together within one molding cycle for two-color or dual-material molding.

 

Main and secondary shot volumes can be flexibly matched to product requirements. The machine also supports both single-color and two-color production, offering greater flexibility for different materials and product specifications. Its square platen provides more balanced force distribution in four directions, supporting mold installation and precision molding.

 

From injection unit configuration to platen structure, the P series provides a stable foundation for products with clearly defined color or material zones.

 

 

FT/FTS Series: Flexible Injection Direction for Different Mold Structures

Some multi-material parts require the second material to be injected from the side or top due to product structure and gate location. The position of the secondary injection unit also affects mold installation, part removal and automation layout.

 

FT-SeIII features a right-angle injection layout, with the main and secondary units injecting from perpendicular directions. Its wide platen and large tie bar spacing provide more space for mold installation.

 

 

It supports either two split molds or one integrated mold. Split molds offers a more direct runner layout, helping simplify mold fabrication and control costs.

 

 

FTS adopts a piggyback layout, with the secondary injection unit positioned above the main unit. This makes use of the upper space for second-material injection, supporting top-gating and related mold structures.

 

The two injection units are independently controlled and can work with a servo rotary table for applications such as single-side overmolding and partial penetration molding. Electric plasticizing can also run simultaneously with mold opening and part removal, reducing cycle waiting time.

 

 

PS Sandwich Injection Series: Sandwich Molding Without Changing Existing Molds

For manufactures with matured products and existing molds, developing new molds means extra investment and longer lead time for new processes.

 

The PS series enables sandwich injection molding without any mold modification, allowing manufactures to continue using current molds while introducing different materials for the skin and core layers.

 

Dual injection units in parallel layout. Total machine footprint is only 1.2-1.5 times that of standard injection machine of similar specification, enabling dual-material molding while keeping space requirements under control.

 

High rigidity platen ensures stable molding and higher yield. Flexible mold-change design accommodates different product sizes and styles.

 

For material selection, premium material can be used for the outer layer to maintain appearance and performance. High-strength materials can be used for the core. The skin-to-core ratio can be adjusted according to appearance, structure, performance and cost requirements, significantly reducing material costs per part.
