85 food outlets will open at Reem Mall

SOME 85 new food and beverage outlets will be established at the Reem Mall, an exciting new retail addition that spans 6.1 million square feet. The development in Abu Dhabi will have 450 stores, and feature the biggest indoor snow play attraction. Carrefour hypermarket is among companies to open at this location.

Abu Dhabi's Urban Planning Council (UPAC) reports that the mall will be home to more than 210,000 people.

In an article by Arabian Business Publishing Ltd, Faisal Sultan, chairman of NREC, one of the companies behind the mall was quoted as saying, "Reem Mall is one of the biggest and most significant leisure and retail developments ever undertaken in Abu Dhabi, and it is a very proud day for all involved in this remarkable project."  

He added, "Over the past 18 months, we have built incredibly strong momentum for the project and this is set to continue as we enter this new phase of development.”

Nadia Akil, CEO, UPAC which is investing up to $224 million in the project, added: "Reem Mall is the most exciting and significant project that UPAC has been involved with and we are delighted to officially mark the beginning of construction with NREC today.”

"We have seen Reem Mall continue to go from strength to strength and look forward to working closely with our delivery partners and expert consultant team to make this project a reality over the next three years."
