BASF evaluates divestment path for feed enzymes unit

BASF is evaluating strategic options for its feed enzymes business, which is part of the company’s Nutrition & Health division.

BASF launched Natuphos® in 1991 as the world’s first commercial feed enzyme (phytase). Over time, the company expanded its portfolio, which by 2021 included phytase, xylanase, glucanase and mannanase. “Our feed enzymes business has significantly outgrown the market over the past years. We are proud of what the team has built. In our Nutrition Ingredients business unit, we will continue to strengthen our core product platforms for vitamins and carotenoids as part of BASF’s key value chains.

This announcement is related only to BASF’s feed enzymes business in the Nutrition & Health division and does not include the enzymes product portfolio for the home care and I&I industry, which is part of BASF’s Care Chemicals division.
