The Philippines' premier beauty B2B trade show launches local cosmetic products and wellness solutions from MSMEs alongside major players

What the Philippines’ cosmetics industry has known as philbeauty is set to make an impactful return this year under a new identity—Cosmobeauté Philippines. Still the first and only B2B trade show for the local beauty and personal care, this event takes place from 4-6 June 2025 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

In 2024, the country’s cosmetics and personal care industry reached an estimated USD4 billion, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Projections show an annual growth rate of about 6%.

With this positive outlook, Cosmobeauté Philippines engages stakeholders across the beauty, personal care, health and wellness sectors to explore the capabilities of local companies, especially of MSMEs which make up most of the industry. It will showcase products that tap the diversity of raw materials and the talents of Filipino entrepreneurs. The event serves as a platform for companies to connect with international buyers and learn from each other.

Seated from left, Ms. Nylah Rizza D. Baustista, Assistant Secretary and Supervising Head Competitiveness and Innovations Group (CIG) of the Department of Trade and Industry,  and Ms. Rungphech Chitanuwat, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Philippines, meet the press at the Grand West Side Manila Hotel on 29 April.

“This is not just a beauty show or about showcasing products, but it’s all about fostering meaningful connections, sharing innovations and empowering industry professionals, said Ms, Rungphech “Rose” Chitanuwat, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Philippines, show organizer.

Occupying 8,300sqm exhibition space, Cosmobeauté Philippines is expected to gather 250 exhibiting brands and companies from across 20 countries, and bring together 7,000 visitors including professionals and trade buyers, business professionals, manufacturers, suppliers and industry.

Competitive edge

On supporting this event, Ms. Nylah Rizza D. Baustista, Assistant Secretary and Supervising Head Competitiveness and Innovations Group (CIG) of the Department of Trade and Industry emphasized the role of the Department of Industry in pursuing its mission to empower MSMEs and to ensure that Philippine-made products can compete and lead in the international market place.

Philippine-made products embody world-class quality and creativity, and deserve to be recognized in the global stage, Ms Bautista said. A key advantage is the integration of locally grown raw materials and ingredients in both formulations and packaging that support the green economy.

The abundance of sustainable materials such as seaweed presents a valuable advantage for formulating cosmetics and beauty products as well as well-designed packaging. Furthermore, the local industry is demonstrating a stronger commitment to eco-conscious manufacturing practices.

‘Beauty for all’

Cosmobeauté Philippines will focus on cosmetics and skincare products and solutions and shine the spotlight on culturally rooted formulations for men and women.

On the consumer side, Filipinos like other consumers in Southeast Asia, also seek products that are gentler to the skin, more suited to the local weather, and reasonably priced. Anti-aging and skin whitening products, as well as make-up with sunscreen are in demand.

Asian Societies of Cosmetic Scientists (ASCS) conference

The 17th ASCS Conference in 2025 will be held concurrently with Cosmobeauté Philippines from June 4-6 at the World Trade Center.  Under the theme Empowering Cosmetic Science, this key gathering will showcase oral and poster presentations submitted to its organizer, the Philippine Society for Cosmetic Science, Inc., and discuss research and trends related to beauty technology and digital applications, beauty innovation and raw materials, packaging and finished products, beauty tradition and evolutions, beauty safety and efficacy testing, as well as natural resources for new ingredients.

Local and international formulators, researchers, chemists, chemical engineers, the academe, and industry supporters who are interested in sharing and learning their insights are welcome to the event, and may register at https://www.ascs2025.com/registration/create.

The PSCS is a member a member-affiliate of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC) and a founding member of Asian Societies of Cosmetic Scientists (ASCS) together with Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Taiwan.
