Hong Kong-based pet food brand initiates largest-scale canine longevity research

Hong Kong's first Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist (BCVN) pet nutrition brand, Mylo launched in June became part of a collaborative clinical microbiome study with a research team from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Homeless Dog Shelter, where one its products was shown to inhibit 95% of harmful bacteria.

The fresh food revolution: Epilogue to the dry food era

Global nutritional science is undergoing a paradigm shift. The most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans (2025-2030) introduced the "inverted pyramid" concept, clearly emphasizing the simple yet fundamental message of "eat real food," redefining the human nutritional standards. Around the same time, a one-year duration study by Cornell University in 2025 also discovered that dogs fed dry food long-term accumulate more Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs), which are substances related to chronic diseases, inflammation, and accelerated aging. 

Conversely, dogs fed fresh food for just one month showed significant metabolic improvements, with antioxidant and cell protection indicators increasing substantially.

Advocacy study states MyloBiome™ inhibits 95% bad bacteria

The key to longevity is to have healthy nutrition and a healthy gut. A dog's gut microbiome affects their digestion, immunity, skin and coat, mood, and pace of aging heavily. Over 70% of immune cells reside around the gut. Mylo collaborated with a research team from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Homeless Dog Shelter to do an advocate study on dogs' gut microbiome for 16 weeks. Results show that after using MyloBiome™, i.e. functional probiotic formulas, 95% of bad bacteria became inhibited, indicating the strengthening of intestinal mucosal barrier and immunity.
