Representing PT Nayue, Tina Gong, an accomplished R&D leader with over a decade of experience in cosmetics innovation will deliver a presentation on breakthrough sunscreen technologies. Her expertise and vision underscore PT Nayue’s dedication to shaping the future of personal care across ASEAN and beyond.

Ms. Gong has over 10 years of experience in cosmetics research, innovation, and product development. She leads the R&D Innovation Division at PT Nayue Kosmetik Indonesia, where she spearheads formulation initiatives and drives product innovation.

Tina Gong, R&D Innovation Manager, PT Nayue Kosmetic Indonesia, will be speaking at the ASEAN Personal Care Technology Summit in Park Hyatt Jakarta.

Ms. Gong's career includes contributions at prestigious institutions such as the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHB, CAS), and MAGELINE, where she played key roles in advancing scientific research and product innovation. She holds six patents and has authored three peer-reviewed research articles published in both domestic and international scientific journals, underscoring her commitment to advancing the science of cosmetic formulations.

The presentation will focus on a study introducing a novel, marine-friendly, bio-derived combination of sunscreen ingredients designed to mitigate the adverse effects of conventional sunscreens on marine ecosystems while addressing safety concerns associated with chemical UV filters.

The formulation incorporates Garcinia indica seed oil, Dunaliella salina extract, Haematococcus pluvialis extract, and Porphyra umbilicalis extract as its core active components. Leveraging multiple photoprotective mechanisms, the formulation not only efficiently absorbs ultraviolet radiation but also inhibits tyrosinase activity, thereby delivering comprehensive, deep-level photoprotection.

Experimental results demonstrate that the formulation achieves excellent SPF and PFA values, complemented by a refreshing, non-greasy sensory profile. This work underscores the importance of developing marine-safe sunscreen formulations and highlights the promising potential of this bio-based complex for use in sunscreens, makeup bases, and after-sun repair products.
