Solvay, a leading global provider of paint and coating solutions, is set to showcase its latest products and innovations at the European Coatings Show 2023 in Nuremberg, Germany. From March 28 to 30, Solvay will be presenting its advanced surfactants, emulsifiers, specialty monomers, and other functional solutions that improve paints and coatings' performance, aesthetics, and lifespan. These solutions contribute to resource efficiency, improved air quality, and healthier living. One of the latest innovations Solvay will feature at the event is Rhodoline® WA-2830E, an Ecolabel, APE-free, low-VOC, low-SVOC, and multifunctional performance additive for interior and exterior waterborne coatings. This innovative wetting and dispersing agent provides superior water, scrub, and block resistance while offering improved color acceptance. Furthermore, Rhodoline® WA-2830E helps to reduce titanium dioxide without affecting opacity, thereby minimizing formulation costs. Solvay's Global Coatings Marketing Director for the Novecare global business unit, Sel Avci, expressed excitement about the company's participation in the event. He also stated that Solvay is committed to helping its customers meet the coatings industry's increasingly demanding performance and sustainability requirements. Mr. Avci noted that innovations such as Solvay's new wetting and dispersing agent and reactive surfactant technologies further enhance the company's broad solutions portfolio, which includes the new Rhodoline® WA-2830E. Another key product that Solvay will feature is its new APE-free polymerizable surfactant, Reactsurf® 2490. This surfactant is a primary emulsifier that delivers superior dirt pick-up resistance in exterior coatings and water whitening resistance in pressure-sensitive adhesives. Solvay will also present Sipomer® PAM 600, a multifunctional monomer that provides excellent anti-corrosion properties and adhesion on metals, glass, and other inorganic substrates. This product is ideal for use in architectural coatings where it can improve stain resistance and opacity and in other applications with critical anti-corrosion properties.
Blanc Fixe is another product that Solvay will showcase at the ECS event. This multifunctional extender based on barium sulfate chemistry enhances anti-corrosion properties, improves hiding power and tint strength, and is suitable for use in both architectural and industrial coatings. Solvay's range of APE-free, low-VOC, and low-odor additives, including Rhodasurf®, Abex®, and Aerosol®, will also be highlighted at the event. These biodegradable and partially biobased solutions serve various functional needs in emulsion polymerization and the formulation of paints and coatings.
