ASEAN High-Performance Machining Summit - Autoparts, Electronics, Assembly Automation held on March 12-13, 2024 in Hanoi, Vietnam brought together foreign and Vietnam-based manufacturing professionals and expert speakers.

Vietnam is undeniably the most promising market and production center in Southeast Asia for automobiles, motorcycles, parts and components. Its automotive market is projected to grow by more than 10% yearly, while its motorcycle market volume is estimated to reach US$6.49 billion by 2028. With a population of about 100 million, over 60% of Vietnam’s population owns motorcycles. While Vietnam’s car ownership rate is still lower than other markets in Asia, this rate is expected to increase to 9% by 2025 and 30% by 2030, making Vietnam one of the countries with the fastest-growing demand for passenger vehicles at a 10.5% growth rate. Vietnam has a young population, and an increasing middle class with strong interest in cutting edge technologies, fuel efficiency, and environmental awareness. These are opportunities for the EV market to grow at a double-digit rate in the coming years.
