Polykemi Group continues to expand.
Polykemi Group, a Swedish plastic compounder, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Gastonia, North Carolina, through its fully-owned American subsidiary, Polykemi Inc.
The company has invested €18m in the new facility, which will employ 20 people in its first year. This is Polykemi Group's largest single investment ever, and the interest from the US market is said to be very high.
The new manufacturing plant has a production capacity of 6500 tons on two twin-extrusion lines, with room for immediate expansion. Johan Hugoson, CEO of Polykemi Inc., said the investment lays the foundation for Polykemi Group to grow further on the North American continent.
Polykemi Group's new plant currently has two extrusion lines with a total capacity of 6,500 tonnes.
This move will allow the company to produce the same plastic compounds in North America that it currently supplies in Asia and Europe, ensuring its global customers receive corresponding materials with the same performance quality, regardless of where they are produced.
"We guarantee customers the same high quality of customized plastic compounds based on virgin and recycled plastic raw materials delivered from all of our global factories," said Johan Hugoson.
Polykemi Group has been manufacturing customer-adapted plastic compounds for 55 years, helping customers optimize material choices for their products. The company recommends "Material-Smart choices," which are materials of the highest quality, with optimal cost efficiency and the lowest possible environmental impact, without compromising function or quality.
Customers can now get the same high-quality plastic compounds from the company’s plants on three continents.
With this newest plant, Polykemi Group now has four manufacturing facilities on three different continents, demonstrating its commitment to global expansion and growth.
