tplas.jpgThe upcoming edition of T-PLAS will move to 2023 and will now take place from 20–23 September at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. This move from the previously announced dates in February 2022 was deemed necessary in view of the recent uncertainties surrounding the arrival of the coronavirus Omicron variant, new travel restrictions, quarantine requirements, as well as suspended air travel from variant hit countries.

“We were optimistic of a 2022 edition of T-PLAS, however with the advent of the new variant this has required a re-evaluation of the already fluid landscape. Thus, in the interest of our exhibitors, visitors and all stakeholders involved, and for better planning certainty, moving the trade fair is the right decision,” said Mr. Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

“In addition, for better resource and investment planning for the plastics and rubber sector, in view of K firmly positioned on the plastics trade fair calendar in the second half of next year in Düsseldorf, this posed another impetus to move T-PLAS to 2023 rather than later in 2022. We are confident that in these two years, with the additional planning and preparation time, we will deliver an even more dynamic T-PLAS for the Southeast Asian region in 2023 that fully optimises participant investment in time and resources,” Mr. Ringling added.

K, held every three years, is the world's leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry organised by Messe Düsseldorf, and will be held from 19-26 October 2022.

Commenting on the shift of T-PLAS to 2023, Ms. Lee Ai Ling, Senior Project Manager, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, added: “We remain committed to meet the business needs of all participants and will continue to nurture these trusted relationships for an even more successful participation in 2023. We would like to thank our industry partners and exhibitors from all over the world who have stood by the trade fair as we make these difficult and time sensitive decisions. We appreciate their continued support with the new dates.”

“We are taking immediate steps to provide all parties with the required support necessary, and look forward to welcoming them in 2023,” added Ms Lee.

Formerly known as TIPREX, launched in 2006, the trade fair has been rebranded to T-PLAS to signify its relevance to the robust growth and developments in the plastics sector, enhance the regional focus and international outlook of the event, and to highlight a unified business platform for the plastics and rubber industries. Strategically positioned in Southeast Asia’s largest plastics processing industry, the trade fair enhances its regional focus and provides an international outlook of the abundant strategic opportunities available for participating companies to springboard their foothold into the regional plastics and rubber markets.

Running in parallel with T-PLAS 2023 is PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, the International Packaging and Printing Exhibition for Asia, and CorruTec ASIA, the International Corrugated Technology Exhibition for Asia. The strategic co-location will sharpen the profile and enhance the relevancy of the three independent trade fairs.

The T-PLAS team will reach out to all industry partners, exhibitors and participants regarding event logistics and planning. Participants may also contact tplas@mda.com.sg for immediate assistance.
