ABB expands position as export hub for African markets

Power automation company ABB intends to strengthen its position in Egypt to serve the domestic markets and become an export hub for Africa.

Naji Jreijri, CEO, ABB Egypt and Central Africa, stated, “Plans are in place to build on the knowledge and manufacturing capability within our Egyptian operations so that ABB can undertake larger projects in the African continent”.

ABB increased the production capacity of our MV and Transformer factories in Egypt by adding new assembly lines for the Compaq Sub-station and Ring Main Units and a new “painting line” and assembly facility for the Transformer factory.

The company’s resources in sales and services have also been increased by more than one hundred persons in all our operations in Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroun and Ivory Coast to cover the market and generate demand opportunities for our factories.

ABB in Egypt will focus on 22 Countries in Africa including Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Chad, C?te d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan and Togo.
