THE latest news on Abbott is a partnership with Fonterra to build dairy farms in China. This year alone, the global healthcare company with over 4,000 employees in the mainland, inaugurated a nutritional manufacturing facility in Jiaxing and two R&D centres in Shanghai. So far, it has invested US$400 million (2.5 billion RMB) in China where it is determined to grow for years to come.
“We’re committed to using our science, our product quality and educational efforts to raise the level of health in China and around the world,” said Miles D. White, Abbott chairman and CEO. The company has mapped out its goals in the country, and has so far worked to strengthen local nutritional science and testing capabilities, and to share technical expertise to promote food safety.
China is one of the largest markets for milk, particularly for infants. Abbott’s latest undertaking with New Zealand’s Fonterra would yield 160 million litres of milk annually.Adidas NMD R1
