Abu Dhabi boosts infrastructure development

The government of Abu Dhabi disclosed significant infrastructure developments throughout Abu Dhabi Municipality has said 26 new infrastructure projects will be developed in 2010 in Abu Dhabi City and its suburbs. Last year, Abu Dhabi Municipality has finished 570 contracts, task orders and purchase orders in the city worth a total of Dh9 billion (US$2.45 billion), according to Salma Al Junaibi, Director of Contracts and Tenders Department at the Abu Dhabi Municipality. The total contracts and tenders completed last year were 208 at a total value of Dh2.5 billion (US$680 million).

With these in mind, Abu Dhabi will become the gathering point for industry professionals and experts involved in PPP projects to address issues and looking at strategic coalition between government and private sectors.
