Acquisition of preform company strengthens Amcor Rigid Plastics' portfolio

Amcor Rigid Plastics USA, LLC has purchased the production and intellectual property of Eco-Groupe, Inc., a preform manufacturing company with four production sites in the United States. Amcor Rigid Plastics also announced acquiring minority stake in EnKon, LLC, a woman-owned business enterprise affiliate of Eco-Groupe, Inc.

According to Mike Schmitt, Amcor Rigid Plastics President, Eco-Groupe’s technologies will strengthen Amcor Rigid Plastics' innovation focus and expand its offerings to customers. Eco-Groupe’s technology portfolio includes a modular molding system called Viper, which allows for multiple size preforms to be injected simultaneously, and Eco-Pod, a mobile manufacturing system.
