THE Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADCFA) will hold Hosted Scientist Programme, a platform for agricultural scientists and experts to share new ideas and initiatives related to food security.
“We’re seeking applications from scientists from around the world and from across the entire spectrum of agricultural research. Our priority is to attract those currently involved in ground-breaking research, as the principle aim here is to drive efforts to counter global hunger through pioneering developments in sustainable agriculture” said Ali Yousef Al Saad, Acting Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA.
Scientists interested in presenting their research can apply online via the official Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA) website before 15 January. Chosen applicants to be notified before the end January, will have the opportunity to share their knowledge before other experts at the Hosted Scientist Programme which starts with a workshop on 16 February.
Research themes will include agribusiness, animal production, crop protection, nutrition, renewable energy, saltwater agriculture, soil health, urban agriculture and water technology.
The program will be held at the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA), an event with exhibition and conference designed to drive global efforts to provide enough safe, nutritious food to an expanding population. It is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADCFA), at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 16-18 February 2016.
