Additional features, sizes for PICCO inserts

ISCAR is expanding the PICCO line of inserts for boring, profiling and threading applications. The PICCO 050 is a new familyof inserts with a ground chipformer for profiling and turning, specially designed for materials that have a tendency to produce chunksof uncontrolled chips that entangle around the insert and the workpiece. The PICCO 050 inserts with a CBN tipped cutting edge forprofiling and turning of hardened steel, enable machining at much higher cutting speeds, and provide longer tool life when comparedwith standard carbide PICCO inserts. They are available with 4.0-7.0mm shanks for minimum bore diameter of 4.0mm. The PICCO threading inserts with full profile geometries forstandard and fine ISO threads are available with shanks of 4-7mmfor a minimum bore diameter of 4.0mm. PICCO inserts with 5.0mmshank size for internal 45 and 60?chamfers on 1mm minimum boresizes. The new PICCO 047?inserts have a 47?back edge angle thatenables profiling contours that previously could not be machined bythe 20?back edge inserts.
