NATIONAL Manufacturing Week (NMW) 2014 is scheduled to open on 13 May 2014, with more than 280 exhibiting companies are all set for this year’s event. Innovative technologies, ideas and strategies are expected to highlight this event.
Incorporating the Ausplas plastics exhibition, NMW is the only event that will bring manufacturing together, under the one roof, this year. Reflecting changing industry priorities, NMW will present a range of new features. The event will have a record 14 Product Zones – with the addition of new areas dedicated to Additive Manufacturing, Digital Manufacturing, Advanced Materials and more, NMW will be precisely segmented to make it easier to find specific areas of interest
Another highlight is the R&D Hub which brings the manufacturing industry face-to-face with world-class innovators sharing secrets that redefine manufacturing operations and exploring opportunities for commercialising and collaborating on developments. It includes a keynote address from Australia's Chief Scientist, Prof Ian Chubb.
The Solutions Theatres, located in separate hubs across the exhibition floor, is a rolling series of presentations from exhibitors and industry experts - covering Digital Manufacturing, CleanTech / Workplace Safety and Plastics Technology (Ausplas) – aimed at linking industry and visitors with the latest research and best practice.
Another highlight is the Networking event in the afternoon of Day 1 where industry professionals gather to broaden their network, liaise with industry leaders and strengthen existing relationships.

Anthony Reed, Exhibition Director for NMW 2014 comments, “"NMW brings solutions that could make a difference to your operations on many fronts: from additive manufacturing to workplace safety and everything in between. In fact, there's a great likelihood that at NMW you'll come across solutions that will help your business in ways you hadn't anticipated.
"This year's event has been designed to make it easier for industry to exchange ideas with their peers and industry leaders - as well as hearing about, seeing and touching new technologies. I believe it will be an outstanding success - and I'm very much looking forward to hearing about the opportunities that will unfold during the week," Reed said.
NMW 2014 runs May 13 - 16 at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, and entry is free to the trade. Visit www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au to register ahead of the event, research exhibitor and event details – or download the NMW app for an interactive map, program and event reminders.
