Adept Technology appoints GM

Adept Technology announced the appointment of Sam Rawas as general manager of the Business Packaging Unit which is focused on providing customers with packaging automation cells that are built on Adept’s intelligent robotic products.

“By developing standardised, fully-integrated solutions that can be dropped into any packaging line, Adept’s Packaging Solutions Business Unit is providing new value to its customers. Customers who have installed our first product, ClamPAC, have raved about its ease of deployment and ease of use along with its gentle handling and reliability,” said John Boutsikaris, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. “This new business unit is poised for growth, and Sam is ideally qualified to take the lead. He has the skills and experience to build on our success.”

Mr Rawas’ leadership experience spans 18 years in international technology companies. He was senior consultant at Space Exploration Technologies; vice president & business manager at SL RASCH GmbH and director – Automation Business Unit, Americas at Convenience Food Systems. He completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Texas and an advanced engineering degree in automation from Germany.
