ARCHER Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) will showcase its growing selection of innovative ingredients at Food Ingredients Europe (FiE) 2015, which will run from December 1 to 3 in Paris, France.
The company's stand at 6P19 will highlight ingredient products that not only enhance taste and texture but also boost nutrition and functionality. The product exhibits will reflect the company's strength and market reach achieved with the acquisition last year of Wild Flavors, its joint venture with Wilmar International Limited for oils and fats, and its subsidiary for specialty oils Société Industrielle des Oléagineux (SIO).
ADM has leveraged its acquisition of Wild Flavors to broaden its product portfolio to offer complete food and flavor solutions and meet customers’ needs. During the show, the group will also highlight relevant consumer and market trends, with emphasis on sustainability. It will showcase increased capability to serve on-trend ingredient solutions for innovative product development.

In line with showcasing the group's broad applications and formulation expertise, visitors to ADM's booth can sample a variety of prototype food and beverage concepts that potential partners can leverage to grow their business. There will be cereal bars based on the Textura line of customized protein crisps. There will also be frozen desserts and pH neutral beverages that use the Clarisoy isolated soya protein suitable for varied applications such as fortified beverages and sports recovery drinks.
ADM will likewise showcase chocolate samples using lecithin. Fluid soya lecithin promotes even blending, reduces hardening, and improves food texture. The booth will also include chicken hot dogs that use Wild flavors, colorings, and salt-reduction technology as well as Arcon S, the latest extension of the Arcon functional soya protein concentrates. The Arcon S has a neutral flavor profile and can be used in snack foods and several meat applications such as ground meats and sausage products.
The Wild Flavors & Specialty Ingredients group will present its range of functional proteins and natural ingredients. Products to be displayed include the Novatol natural vitamin E source to protect cells from oxidative stress, and the Decanox range of antioxidants commonly used in food applications. Visitors can also learn more about the Novasoy soya isoflavone concentrate, which is often used in food supplements for women, and the Novaxan xanthan gum, which is used to thicken and stabilize food products.
The product exhibits and demonstrations will be complemented by a seminar on Olenex’s commitment to sustainability and a transparent palm oil supply chain, which will be held on December 1 at 4:30pm. Daphne Hameeteman, Sustainability manager, will be the guest speaker.
Olenex's FIE exhibits will demonstrate the company's broad line of blended and packed specialty oils and fats for bakery and confectionery applications, including cocoa butter equivalents and filling fats. Its cocoa butter equivalents are considerably more cost-effective than cocoa butter, but feature the same properties and crystallization characteristics.
Olenex has recently implemented a policy to eliminate deforestation from its global palm oil supply chain. It sources palm oil, palm kernel oil, and their derivatives only from suppliers that are committed to the protection of High Carbon Stock (HCS) forests or High Conservation Value (HCV) forests.
Meanwhile, SIO will present its portfolio of high-melt flaked vegetable fats and specialty oils. The flaked fats feature a high melting point and can therefore be used as alternatives to microcrystalline waxes in a range of food applications.
