Ahlstrom unveils biodegradable moulding material

The new moulding material from Ahlstrom touts several features that food manufacturers will find attractive.

The patent-pending Ahlstrom NatureMold is heat resistant to up to 220°C/428°F, and features a genuine vegetable parchment that makes it grease proof. Other benefits include biodegradability, easy release and high wet resistance.

Made from renewable resources with FSC-certified pulp, NatureMold is a sustainable alternative to plastic and aluminium trays and moulds. It also allows branding and differentiation properties, and watermarking or dyeing with hot food contact-approved colours.
