At In-Cosmetics Korea 2016, AkzoNobel (Stand J59) will introduce to the Asian market ElfaMoist™ AC humectant for long-lasting moisturization in skin care formulations. The company’s latest innovative ingredient for personal care applications gives formulators the ability to meet the growing Asian consumer demand for long-lasting and high-performance skin care products.

AkzoNobel also will highlight its portfolio of key essential functionalities that enable formulators to create the finest personal care products.

“We combine global technologies and research capabilities with local technical support to help Korean and other Asian manufacturers deliver the performance and sensorial qualities that cater to local consumers’ needs,” said Andy Lee, Regional Marketing & Sales Manager for Personal Care Applications, AkzoNobel.

ElfaMoist AC humectant (proposed INCI Name: N-Acetyl DGA) is an effective active that easily penetrates inside the skin (stratum corneum), delivers and increases hydration, and keeps skin moisturized for 30 hours, even after a single application. Equally important, ElfaMoist AC humectant performs exceptionally without showing disruption to the skin barrier, making it safe and gentle on skin. ElfaMoist AC humectant was scientifically designed to deliver instant and long-lasting moisturization without the negative sensory impact of other humectants. “The performance of ElfaMoist AC humectant is the best we have seen from any humectant that we have evaluated,” said Han (Bevin) Bevinakatti, AkzoNobel scientist, Global R&D.

With ElfaMoist AC humectant formulators can create the finest skin care products in a wide variety of leave-on emulsion systems as well as rinse-off products. “By adding ElfaMoist AC humectant to our portfolio, we have strengthened our offering of actives – in addition to HYDROVANCE® moisturizing agent – providing our customers with innovative ingredients that deliver on their formulations objectives, ultimately helping them to gain competitive advantage and grow in the skin care market,” said Georgete Pereira, Global Marketing Manager for Personal Care Applications.

Keying on Function

AkzoNobel continues to supply advanced ingredients and insights that help manufacturers invent efficient products with sensorial characteristics and benefits that match consumer expectations.

“Our range of active ingredients, rheology modifiers, film-formers, aesthetic modifiers, emulsifiers, conditioning agents and cleansing agents provide manufacturers with effective solutions for formulating innovative and more sustainable products that meet the particular skin and hair care requirements of the Asian market,” said Lee.
