Alfa Laval, a leading company engaged in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling, has won an order to supply Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers to a petrochemical plant in the Middle East. The order, booked in the Process Industry segment, has a value of approximately SEK 85 million and delivery is scheduled to take place in 2013 and 2014.
The Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers will be included in the production of mixed Xylenes, which are used in synthetic nylons and PET bottles, among other things. “Our Packinox heat exchangers are considered to be the ultimate choice for the demanding refinery and petrochemical applications. This order proves their unmatched energy efficiency performance”, says Lars Renstr?m, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.
The GCC states in the Middle East (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) account for 11 percent of the global petrochemicals output, and is expected to exceed 15 percent by 2015.
