AMCOR Flexibles Asia Pacific has announced that it will be building a multi-million dollar packaging plant in the Philippines.
Expected to be fully operational by 2016, the new plant will specialize in the manufacture of high performance packaging for a leading multinational consumer brand.
The investment builds on the existing strategic partnership with the brand, and delivers direct in-country production, improving Amcor’s speed-to-market in the Filipino market.
“Emerging Asia remains an important focus for Amcor Flexibles and with 38 plants in 8 countries today, our presence in the Asia Pacific region will continue to grow both organically and through acquisitions. Our growth is supported by a solid foundation of delivering high-quality, safe and innovative packaging,” said Ralf K. Wunderlich, president of Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific.
Amcor said the partnership will enable the packaging company to support growth in the Philippines and bring benefits to the local community.
