AMI to hold 2nd Plastic Closure Innovations

Specialist plastics research consultancy AMI recently released the programme of the second Plastic Closure Innovations conference, after a successful event launch in April 2013. Plastic Closure Innovations 2014 will take place in Berlin this time on 28-30 April in Hotel Concorde. The conference is sponsored by Sabic, HRS Multitech and IMD Vista, and supported by numerous table-top exhibitors.

AMI's conference offers a unique networking opportunity and creates a forum for leading brand owners, closure and packaging moulders, designers and suppliers to the industry to debate the latest developments in the plastics caps and closures industry. The event's focus is on adding value and optimising results across the supply chain and for different end-use applications (both food and non-food). A fresh new line-up of Plastic Closure Innovations is a balanced selection of current product, technology and material advancements initiatives and market insights.

Procter & Gamble will headline with the case-study of a new dosing system for kitchen products (e.g. Flash). The event has consistently earned the support of major closures moulders as well: Aptar Food + Beverage will discuss the future of valve closure dispensing; Closure Systems International will present innovative advanced capping solutions; Gaplast will discuss airless packaging and closure systems for cosmetics and pharma applications; and Sibo will explain its space cap concept. Corvaglia will explain product qualification and standards.

The suppliers to the industry greatly contribute to the industry evolution and both operational and product quality improvements. Mould design companies, such as Z-Moulds and Zahoransky, and machinery suppliers  (Sumitomo Demag, Sacmi Imola, HRS Flow and Selig) will demonstrate technical innovations in closure moulding and decoration. IMD Vista and U-Nica Solutions, on the other hand, will focus on quality assurance systems and product security solutions.
