Source: Release Date:2010-03-29 233
Amity Engineering FZC operates with a vision to provide total customer satisfaction by fulfilling its holistic commitments to the industry and the society. Founded in 2005 and located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Amity Engineering FZC has managed to weather the recent financial storm and carve a niche for itself through supreme quality standards and professionalism. During a recent interview conducted by Zainab Mansoor for International Metalworking News - Middle East, Mr. M. Yogi, Managing Director of Amity Engineering FZC, shared his vision about the growth and prospects of the company, the overall potential of the region and outlook for 2010. IMNE : What product and service does Amity Engineering FZC specialise in? YOGI: We specialise in the design, fabrication and erection of conveyors, chutes, hoppers, tanks, ducts, chimneys, bucket elevators, grizzly's, crushers, silos, trailers and trolleys. We also do critical repair and maintenance jobs for cement plants, steel plants, block factories and ready mix plants. In a nutshell, we provide total engineering solutions to customers' vis-?vis material handling systems. " I feel the UAE market in this region is quite resilient and still holds a lot of scope in terms of growth and expansion. Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah are the local markets to target and watch for as they harbour a lot of untapped potential" IMNE: Which industries do you cater to? YOGI: We are catering to the core industries that are supporting the overall construction industry, for instance the crushing and cement industry. We are also offering dust extraction solutions to steel manufacturing plants, asphalt plants, glass plants, and the ceramics industry. IMNE: Are all products at Amity Engineering FZC, manufactured locally? From where has the machinery been procured? YOGI: Yes! All products are produced locally at a manufacturing facility, located in Hamriyah Free Zone, Phase II in Sharjah, spread over 10,000 square metres of yard and 3000 square foot of workshop. All the machinery has been bought from local dealers here, who in turn, are exporting from all over the world, for instance India, China, and the U.S. IMNE: What parameters are there to maintain high service levels? Do you have a Quality Assurance team? YOGI: We try to maintain high service and quality levels in terms of customer satisfaction and quality maintenance. We try to attend service calls within 24 hours from the time they are logged-in, against the industry practice of 24-48 hours resolution time. We run an in-house quality assurance team comprising of the quality control inspector and the operations manager who foresee the quality measurement of the entire process from manufacturing the product to its delivery and installation. Every product and delivery is accompanied by a quality control report, a copy of which is given to the customer if requested; otherwise we maintain a chronology of it for record purposes. IMNE: What is the size of your workforce? What parameters do you follow during the recruitment process? YOGI: We have an employee base of 75. We have liaisons with reputed recruitment firms in Chennai, India as most of our manpower resources are brought in from there. We follow stringent rules in terms of education, skills and personality before hiring any employee, managerial or labourer. IMNE: How has Amity Engineering FZC weathered this financial crunch? YOGI: We are predominantly catering to the core industries as we deal with material handling systems. Thus any industrial slowdown hasn't really affected us as we still have ongoing projects that started sometime ago. Personally, I feel the recession had slowed our turnover in 2009, as it didn't grow much as we expected it to - hence our figures for two consecutive years (2008, 2009) remainedNIKE AIR HUARACHE
