Anatomy app for iPad

GE and Healthline Networks have launched BodyMaps, an anatomy app for the Apple iPad. BodyMaps has been designed for helping clinicians explain a diagnosis and possible treatment options, but is also useful for research on anatomical facts.

The app features full colour, high-resolution display 3D rotatable images depicting over 1,000 anatomical structures, with 30 rotatable models of parts of the body such as the eye, knee and heart for both males and females. BodyMaps also features 200 videos depicting how major health conditions, treatments, and bodily functions work.

A search tool using either clinical terms or everyday language is available for both healthcare professionals and laymen. The app also has a mark-up tool that allows drawing directly on an image to illustrate specific conditions, procedures, or therapies.
