ArcelorMittal to produce galvanised steel for Meriva

ArcelorMittal TB Zaragoza will deliver about 1.2 million laser welded parts (tailored blanks) that represent around 18,000 tonnes per year of galvanised high-quality steel for the new Opel Meriva, produced in the GM plant located in Zaragoza, Spain. The investments amounted to EUR 2 million (US$2.7 million). The technology of tailored blanks (TB) consists of welding laser blanks of different thicknesses and qualities obtaining welded parts to be used in the body-in-white of cars.
