RIGHT on the heels of Avon announcing it would be cutting 600 jobs in North America, comes downsizing news from Elizabeth Arden.
The century-old beauty company, with a multitude of brands and licenses in addition to its eponymous line, has struggled lately amid rumors of possible buyouts by U.S. or Korean powerhouse cosmetic manufacturers.
The firm has now announced that it will go ahead with a plan to cut nearly 200 jobs and close its operations in Puerto Rico. It will also cut back on underperforming fragrance brands such as, reportedly, Usher and BCBG.
The firm became a point of disinterest for a possible acquisition by South Korea's LG Household & Health Care, according to reports.
