ARLANXEO hosts Open Day in China

ARLANXEO hosted an Open Day in partnership with Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) on January 10, 2019. Themed “Talent, Technology and Innovation”, the event has further deepened ARLANXEO’s relationship with QUST, which was first established in 2017.     

 

Sun Hong, Managing Director of ARLANXEO China stated that developing local talents and fostering an educational environment conducive to innovation are important part of ARLANXEO’s corporate social responsibility agenda. In partnership with QUST, ARLANXEO is planting innovation seeds among students by providing them with software and hardware as required for innovation, as well as multiple exchange opportunities. This way, ARLANXEO hopes to cultivate the next generation of chemical professionals in China.

 

 

QUST is a domestic academic leader in rubber and polymer materials research and education, according to Herman Dikland, Head of ARLANXEO Global Innovation and TSAD, High Performance Elastomers. Mr. Dikland added that the company also aims to inspire innovations among students through our scholarship programs and workshops on lab safety topics, to promote the health, safety and environmental (HSE) concepts and drive sustainable development of the chemicals industry.  

 

Shuhua Zhang, Vice President of QUST remarked that ARLANXEO has significantly enriched the students’ education by offering cutting-edge industry resources and insights into trends and technologies.  

 

ARLANXEO and QUST first signed an agreement in 2017, launching a slew of reciprocal programs that include scholarships, graduate student education, collaborative research projects, and technical seminars, among others. 

 

ARLANXEO strives to act as a socially responsible corporate by supporting education. It has launched comprehensive cooperation programs with local universities and research institutions including QUST, and other academies such as Changzhou University and Changzhou Vocational Institute of Engineering, to better contribute to the development of innovative local talents for China chemicals industry.
