Ashland adds new paint and materials laboratory in Shanghai center

Ashland Specialty Additives announced the establishment of a new paint and building materials laboratory at its technical center in Shanghai. The expansion of the Shanghai technical center will add 20 laboratory personnel and technical experts.

The center is equipped with the most advanced laboratory equipment that will meet all paints and building materials, personal care, pharmaceutical, food and beverage and other areas of Chinese customers in the development, application technology and service needs. Ashland Shanghai Technical Center is located in Shanghai Caohejing Industrial Park. 

In the field of coatings, Ashland’s advanced analysis and testing technology continues to monitor market trends to be able to developed new generation of additives to help clients improve paint, paint products, performance and value. In addition to construction, industrial, specialty materials and coatings, Ashland also manufactures  paint remover, universal colorants and emulsion to provide functional additives.

In the field of construction, Ashland's products are mainly used in cement-based tile adhesives, plaster, plaster mortar, sealant, exterior insulation system and self-leveling, with its features include thickening, rheology control, water retention, bonding, forming, conditioning agents, and precipitating agents, protective colloids, suspending agents and emulsifying effect.
