Ashland introduces Lipigenine? Biofunctional

At the upcoming Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) in Guangzhou March 13-15, 2013,  Ashland will introduce one of its latest innovative products Lipigenine biofunctional, which can support skin care cosmetic manufacturers to develop the formulations to fit and satisfy the consumers of all ages.

Lipigenine biofunctional is extracted from flax seeds and inspired by epidermal lipid synthesis, an essential process associated with normal skin barrier function and physical protection from the environment. Lipigenine biofunctional has been demonstrated in ex vivo studies to enhance the skin's natural lipid synthesis in the stratum corneum.

Recently patented, this offering, based on flax seed extract, helps keep skin moisturized. Moreover, inspired by skin’s natural production of antimicrobials, Lipigenine biofunctional may help skin normalize its biochemical shield. A biochemical shield is essential to maintain a balanced skin microflora ecology and protect against external insults.
