ASSAB extends its reach in China

Swedish-owned Assab Tooling (Dongguan) Co. Ltd held a die technology seminar with Hunan Die Industry Association in Changsha, Hunan province on November 23, 2012. The seminar has attracted nearly 100 representatives and experts from the mould manufacturing industry in Hunan.

Technical Manager Dr. Bo Fang presented the major failure mechanisms and solutions of cold-working steel, hot-working steel, plastic steel, as well as other topics on hot forging die steel.

"The mould is involved in many industries, and it requires high-stable material quality, short delivery time and in-time service, especially in electronics and automotive industry. We can meet different customers' demands and has won numerous customers' recognition. Currently, we provide customers with products and services via Assab Dongguan in the short term. Because Hunan's mould industry is still in early years, many companies are not aware of our brand. This is our main problem that should be resolved. Thus, it is our purpose to hold the seminar in Hunan," Fang said.

According to James Z.E. Zhan, Marketing Supervisor, Assab is expected to achieve double-digit growth in 2012. At present, the company’s business is mainly in Guangdong. The company plans to set up an office in Changsha, Hunan at the end of 2011. It also plans to accelerate expansions into other areas, such as Guangxi, Jiangxi and other regions.
