Auto interiors maker opens Hangzhou plant

THE move is the automotive interiors supplier's 11th facility opening in seven countries in the past two years, increasing its total number of worldwide locations to 102.

 

Brian Pour, senior vice president of IAC's North Asia region said that the new Hangzhou operation reflects the company's on-going commitment to support its global customers with premium interior manufacturing capabilities in line with their global platform strategies.

 

The 78,577 square feet (7,300 square meters) Hangzhou plant is strategically located near regional logistics hubs and several OEM customer assembly plants. 

 

The facility is anticipatd to employ more than 220 people and will initially manufacture door panel and center console assemblies for Changan Ford, along with door trim components for Shanghai General Motors and instrument panel and center console components for Chery Jaguar Land Rover. 

 

Reinforcing the company's vertical integration strategy, the new IAC operation will also provide a range of premium cut, sewn and wrapped interior components, utilizing highly crafted materials, such as leather, simulated leather and cloth solutions featuring an array of custom stitch patterns.
