AviCAD's new 3D pdf export utility

CAD developers at AViCAD.com announced a new way to distribute 3D designs using a new PDF Export utility within their CAD program.

The new 3D PDF export utility allows CAD users to rotate, zoom and render a 3D model directly within a PDF file. Drawing layers and views can also be toggled on and off as needed.

Users can also share project with anyone using the Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program available from the Adobe web site.

Victor Abela, CAD director, said, "This is a really big feature in AViCAD 2014 because we have made the 3D PDF Export completely interactive."

The new utility allows user to add markups to 3D views and track them in a Markups list accessible within the PDF. "Now you can communicate and share your 3D model with anyone. 3D PDF Export offers a innovative way to communicate your ideas without using a CAD engine," Mr Abela said.

The PDF plugin integrates directly within the AViCAD File pull-down menu and is one of the new features available in a new version called AViCAD 2014.
