B2B Industrial releases breathable stretch film

Ventilated stretch film is similar to traditional stretch film in most regards, with one important difference. The product, developed by B2B Industrial Packaging, LLC, is perforated to allow heat and humidity to escape. This feature makes it an ideal alternative to stretch netting. The film can be used for produce and other food products, as well as goods that require heat and moisture to vent in order to avoid spoilage.

There are a number of advantages to using ventilated stretch film—primarily faster transport times and less spoilage. For example Styrofoam expander parts dry more quickly and printers find that inks cure faster. Breathability also allows for longer shelf life in fruits and vegetables, especially during transport, whilst in beverages, this feature allows for shorter cool down time. Processed foods wrapped in this stretch  film will require shorter flash freeze time as well. Baked goods can be wrapped warm with this film.

The new-generation stretch from B2B Industrial is also lighter, making a significant difference in the weight of the roll which impacts efficiency and overhead. It is produced in the same way as regular ventilated stretch film - supporting bands increase the holding force, distributing it across the entire load and ensuring a stable pallet. The design is forklift-friendly as it has no reinforcing strips that can get detached from the base film and become tangled in forklift wheels and bearings.
