Bandera spa held opening ceremony for its new R&D Center. The President of Lombardy Region Roberto Maroni, the Prefect of Varese districtGiorgio Zanzi, the Mayor of Busto Arsizio Gianluigi Farioli, together with the owners Piero and Franco Bandera and some representatives of the staff, were present during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility located inside the historic headquarters centuries-old park of Bandera spa.
This new facility further consolidates the extremely strong bond between technological research and concrete application. In conjunction with PLAST2015 and during Expo, Bandera spa, an Italian enterprise engaged in the production of extrusion plants, introduced its new 3,000 sq.m. facility dedicated to research and development, with annexed offices’ building to host customers and the possibility to organize in-house workshops and open houses.

Customers and partners from Asia, North and South America, India and Europe could visit the center which represents the heart of the ‘made in Italy’ technological excellence that Bandera brings all around the world. The new R&D area Bandera displayed one 7-layer blown film co-extrusion line for thermo-lamination and also for barrier-film flexible packaging; and two lines equipped with flat die technology for the production of PET, PLA and PP rigid or semi-expanded filmfor thermoformed rigid packaging and Form-Fill-Seal industry.
With this new facility, Bandera spa aims to host an extrusion center of excellence in Europe, focusing on the search for highly innovative ideas and on the development of new implementations that maximize technological progress in plastics processing, intercepting the trends of food and industrial packaging. It also serves as an area where the company can promote sustainable technology and industrial processes aimed at granting the lowest energy consumption, at facilitating recycled or biodegradable materials processing and at reducing packaging weight.
