Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS GmbH (EMB), a subsidiary of Bayer Technology Services GmbH, has acquired a worldwide license from Alfa Laval to market and manufacture ART? reactor technology. With these millistructured plate reactors, which are used in laboratory, pilot and production plants, EMB is now the leading supplier of metal micro- and millistructured reactors and apparatus.
"The ART? reactor technology from Alfa Laval enables us to ideally round out our portfolio of innovative, robust plate reactors for production use," said EMB Managing Director Dr. Joachim Heck. "Their high performance really shines when it comes to fast and extremely exothermic or endothermic - and thus very demanding - reactions."
Micro- and millireactor technology offers substantial advantages over batch and other reactors, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry as well as in the fine and specialty chemicals industries. In addition to numerous other aspects, the outstanding heat transfer and simple scale-up provide advantage for process intensification with respect to yield, costs and safety.
Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS GmbH is a leading supplier of microreaction technology products such as micro and milli reactors, heat exchangers and related devices for lab and production units. With its product platforms modular MicroReactionSystems (MMRS), Lonza FlowPlate? micro reactors, Miprowa? high efficiency reactors and heat exchangers as well as the newly acquired Alfa Laval′s ART? reactors EMB is offering tailor made solutions for all kind of applications.
