Another innovation that can be used in Asia is GEORG's slitting line. Becker invests in a modern slitting and packing line, which is now under engineering.

THE aluminium market represents itself in great diversity spanning from automotive, aerospace up to railway industry. Special knowhow and experience is required to process this universally useable material.

The Heinrich Georg GmbH Maschinenfabrik combines both being a renown supplier of finishing lines to the steel and the aluminium industry as well. A modern slitting and packing line for the new established Becker-Aluminium Service CmbH is under engineering now. Becker Steel as member of the Klöckner Group invests in the expansion of a new business division located at Bönen. Georg is known as reliable partner already as its technology has been in use at Becker Stahl too.

400 m/min for up to 50 strands of aluminium

The new high-tech installation for probably the first aluminium service center worldwide will take up operation in middle of 2017. The line is designed for a material width of 2.150 mm and 5 mm strip thickness and ensures precise slitting, oiling and packing of up to 50 aluminium strands.

With its new business division for flat aluminium products for the automotive and metal using industry Becker Stahl will continue the strategy for increasing the turnover portion in higher value products and services. At the same time Becker will expand its product portfolio with a  future oriented material for the automotive industry. Georg finishing lines division will contribute with the new slitting line operating at a maximum line speed of 400 m/min . For the high line speed slitting shear and cutter shafts are built in precise geometry.

Efficiency in energy consumption and oiling

The line is equipped with motors of energy class IE3 which ensure a sustainable reduced energy consumption. On top the switch gear unit disposes of an energy recovery function (active line module). A further remarkable advantage offers the oiling concept selected by Georg’s engineers. In use will be an electrostatic oiling machine which can apply prelube oils as well as hotmelt/drylube oils in layers of highest homogenity. This is of special importance with regard to the subsequent processes of the value chain like shaping or deep-drawing. The oiling machine can be moved out of the line for cleaning and maintenance purposes and in case of processing materials not to be oiled.

GEORG is happy about the challenging task and the confidence rendered by Becker Aluminium Service GmbH. The engineering result will become effective  and obvious in middle of 2017 at Bönen.
