Bemis acquires HK flexible packaging firmChina

WISCONSIN's Bemis Company, Inc. (www.bemis.com) has acquired Mayor Packaging, a privately owned manufacturer of consumer and specialty flexible packaging including a manufacturing facility in Dongguan, China. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This transaction does not impact earnings per share guidance for 2011.
Bemis is a major supplier of flexible packaging and pressure sensitive materials used for food, consumer products and healthcare worldwide.
"This acquisition supports our strategy to enhance our presence in the Asia-Pacific region," Bemis president and CEO Henry Theisen said. "The high barrier, flexible packaging operation in Dongguan is a state-of-the art facility that serves food and consumer product companies around the world"
