ArabPlast 2011 will be 25% bigger than the 2009 edition, with the show occupying nine halls of the Dubai World Trade Centre, following record number of exhibitors and sponsors. The Middle East's No. 1 trade show for rubber, plastics and plastic processing is scheduled to be held from 8 - 11 January 2011 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre amidst positive prospects given the global plastics and petrochemical industry's recovery from recession. A record number of companies are participating in ArabPlast 2011, a reflection on the growing importance attached by GCC countries to strengthening their manufacturing industries, including plastics and rubber sector, which are known to be more sustainable investments in the long run. The show will present the latest technologies and track market trends of the Middle East plastics and rubber industry, which continues to be the world's largest exporter, offloading the majority of its output to international markets. The region's companies are aggressively competing to showcase their latest technology in plastic manufacturing at the exhibition as they see rising demand for industrial machinery. On display at ArabPlast 2011 will be new products and technologies in injection moulding, blow moulding, wrapping and packaging, pre- and post-plastic processing techniques as well as raw materials, such as masterbatches, additives and polymers. A wide spectrum of plastic machinery, plastic/ rubber processing technology, pre- and post-processing systems, plastic packaging technology, chemicals, engineering plastics and additives, as well as semi-finished goods and finished products are to be shown.

Companies from Taiwan, United States, Turkey, Egypt, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, China, Switzerland, Spain, Norway, KSA, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, UAE, India and Iran are participating in the show. Al Fajer Information and Services and German exhibition organiser Messe Dusseldorf are in partnership in the ArabPlast exhibitions. The show is sponsored by major GCC industrial companies, such as Qapco, Borouge, Abu Dhabi Polymers Park, Petro Rabigh among others.

Mr. Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services, Co-organiser of the show, said: "The growth of this show reflects the high global demand for plastics and its raw materials and of course the machines. ArabPlast has defied recession, with the 2009 edition ending on a very successful note, and the 2011 show registering a dramatic increase in the number of exhibitors, sponsors and display space. The Gulf is the export hub of plastics raw material to the world, thanks to companies from the UAE, Qatar and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that are making this industry a key contributor to GCC economies". In addition, the strong performance of leading petrochemical companies in the Middle East region has been sustained as these companies export to over 150 countries worldwide.

The ArabPlast Summit, to be held concurrently with the exhibition, is slated as a main attraction with its discussions centering on the key challenges facing the growth of the raw plastics and petrochemicals in the GCC region. All India Plastics Manufactures Association, the Indian partners for Arabplast is also organising a conference on the emerging opportunities in India in the plastics sector.
