With an increasing demand for plastic, rubber and packaging solutions in Vietnam and neighbouring Asian countries, Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2010, held every two years, co-located with ProPak Vietnam 2010 in Ho Chi Minh City. With the exhibition space enlarged to 5000sqm, the third edition - held from 18 - 20 March -- once again stressed its unique advantages by providing the most successful platform for over 200 exhibiting companies to showcase their latest innovations, state-ofthe- art machinery and cost effective processing solutions to more than 6,000 industrial visitors. This year, Plastics & Rubber Vietnam provided an expanded window for aerospace, automotive, precision engineering, electrical and electronics, furniture, medical and healthcare, household goods, packaging, leisure goods, building and construction as well as contract and sub-contracting manufacturing sectors in Vietnam to access the latest plastics and rubber processing, packaging and precision engineering technologies available in the global market. Exhibits were divided into three main categories: Machinery & Equipment for Plastics and Rubber Processing, Raw Materials and Services & Consultation. Some of the featured exhibitors include Reifenhauser GmbH & Co. KG Maschinenfabrik, Borouge, Cincinnati Extrusion GmbH, MORETTO SpA, Du Pont China Limited and KraussMaffei Technologies GmbH, to name a few. In addition to its trade exhibition, this edition of Plastics & Rubber Vietnam was complemented by the organisation of the Vietnam Plastics Association Conference by the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA) and featured local and international perspectives on the new trends of the plastics industry in region and the development orientation of plastics industry in Vietnam; with a panel of experts speaking on different areas such as market strategies, trend applications and innovations in the plastics industry. A lineup of insightful conference and seminar programmes were scheduled so delegates can share their expertise and experience. These included industry updates, market trends and business papers to enable plastics manufacturers to keep abreast with the latest developments and innovations; adapt to changes and spearhead the innovation and creativity through collaborative efforts. Vietnam Plastics Association Secretary General, Mr. Nguyen Dang Cuong, member of the event support committee, said "The organisation of this event highlights collective efforts of the private sector based on the generous support of the Mini s t ry of Industry and Trade and related industrial associations. The tripartite and multi-national collaboration between VCCI Exhibition Services, Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES) and Messe Duesseldorf Asia has proven to be very successful. The partners have pooled together their organisational resources and market expertise to make Plastics & Rubber Vietnam an important event on the international trade exhibition calendar." The host country, Vietnam, is rising in prominence as a global manufacturing centre. Its plastics and rubber industries are transforming rapidly to serve an increasingly diversified industrial base. Despite the global economic downturn, Vietnam's economy is expected to recover to post a 6.5% in 2010. Vietnam is a promising market for the region's plastics and rubber processing industry that drives the continuous growth of its export sector, including electronics and automotive among others. These are particularly promoted by the Vietnam government whose policy is geared towards active development of industrial estates to accommodate the needs of increasing numbers of plastics and rubber processors.(the end)Air Jordan XXXI Low
