Biggest-ever CHINAPLAS presents widest range of innovative solutions

More dynamic and diverse exhibits are what visitors to CHINAPLAS 2016 will see as they move around the show floor starting today.  As Asia's No. 1 & world's No.2 plastics and rubber trade fair, this year's edition of CHINAPLAS has a lot of new  attractions and activities that will make the visit more fruitful. 

 

The exhibition opened with officials from the government and trade assocations in attendance. Optimism on the continuous growth of the plastics industry in China and the rest of Asia is very much apparent given the active participation of various industry representatives to the opening day.  On its 30th edition, CHINAPLAS is scheduled to be held from April 25 - 28,2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, PR China. The exhibition area spans more than 240,000sqm. 

 

The exhibition is an important gateway to the China market, and has evolved into a major platform for the showcase of both overseas technologies and Chinese machineries for export. The show is supported by a number of country and region pavilions, including Austrian, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Swiss, Taiwanese, and USA Pavilions. More than 140,000 visitors from 150 countries and regions are expected to come to the exhibition for business negotiations and procurement. 

 

With broader range of exhibits, the number of theme zones has gone up to 16, including the new  "Automation Technology Zone", "Composite & High Performance Materials Zone" and "Recycling Technology Zone". Intelligent production lines and systems, industrial robots, high performance materials, composite materials, the latest and most complete recycling solutions as well as other plastics and rubber technology breakthroughs are showcased under one roof.

 

Smart manufacturing as focus

An interesting addition to this year's CHINAPLAS is the focus on smart manufacturing. Like other manufacturing industries in China, plastics and rubber industries are developing to meet the new era of intelligent production. The world's leading manufacturing countries have launched national strategic plans to meet the challenges in the new era and to strengthen their industrial competitiveness. These include "Industry 4.0" of Germany, "Advanced Manufacturing Partnership" of USA, and "New Robot Strategy" of Japan. China also launched the "Made in China 2025" strategic plan to boost its industrial growth by  upgrading the capabilities of Chinese manufacturing industries. 

 

The show theme "Greenovation for a Smart Future" signifies the commitment  on green and innovative technologies, as well as intelligent manufacturing solutions in response to the development of the industry. With more new and high-end technologies on display, the show can now better support enterprises to explore more business opportunities locally and internationally.

 

CHINAPLAS organizer, Adsale, and VDMA (the German Engineering Federation) co-organize the "Industry 4.0 Conference". The conference focues on industrial automation setup from strategic concept to practical engineering. It aims to introduce the latest module optimization, system solutions, practical intelligent manufacturing plans, help manufacturers transform and upgrade, create opportunities, and build the intelligent future. Moreover, a large number of automated equipment applied in the plastics industry are on display not only in the "Automation Technology Zone", but are also widely distributed in different halls, such as the Injection Molding Machinery Zone and Extrusion Machinery Zone. 

 

Plastics for high-growth sectors 

Not to be missed are the exhibits intended for today's high-growth sectors which have been reaping the benefits from reasearch and product development efforts of companies in the plastics industry.

 

CHINAPLAS 2016 provides advanced environmental friendly plastic raw materials and cutting-edge automation equipment for the green transformation and technology upgrade for the building and construction industry. New products such as plastic pipes, plastic doors and windows made of new materials and light-weighted structures continue to emerge. With the application performance has become more and more excellent, the application areas continue to broaden, further setting higher requirements for manufacturing equipment and manufacturing capacity. 

 

The exhibition also dedicates to the automotive industry by providing more professional concepts with more insights in innovation, automation and green solutions. Exhibits are aimed at ways to reduce vehicle's volatile organic compound (VOC) and weight; to increase the green automation in the production process and increase the automotive recycling rates. 

 

The medical sector is also on spotlight with trends toward miniaturization, portability, improved aesthetics, and environmental responsibility being the focus of exhibits supplying the medical sector. Owing to plastics' comparatively light weight, low cost, ease of processing, flexibility and superior biocompatibility, medical plastics have become an integral component in a wide range of modern medical devices and supplies, covering disposable syringes, intravenous blood bags, heart valves, etc. Over 700 exhibitors present technologies which are applied in the medical sector, covering medical plastics materials, die & mold, injection molding and packaging technology, automated production equipment, cleanroom solutions and detection technology. The exhibits on display, such as 3D printing technology, precision injection molding, micro injection molding, new silicone technology used in wound care and skin adhesion, breathable films for artificial heart-lung machines , automated high-speed adhesive dispensing and coating systems, automatic vacuum-forming blister packaging machines, sterile barrier systems, etc., support the rapid development of the medical industry.
