BILLY Sims-China Food Group will soon export whole milk powder and skim milk powder to China where demand for US dairy products continues to rise.
Founded by David "Chief" Tomby, co-chairman and director of marketing, and co-chairman Billy Sims, the company is incorporated as ACCR LLC, a private investment firm in Detroit, and will develop and manufacture dairy and other products destined for China.

"We have relationships with US dairy producers to supply milk powder to China this year,” said Mr Sims, who is also a former football player with the Detroit Lions before becoming a businessman. "The manufacturing development is seeking joint-venture partners in China and is talking with potential investors. The joint US-China venture has received official support from the Michigan and Chinese government officials."
China Operations director Kevin Zhang added, "The China market for US milk products is enormous and expected to grow rapidly over the coming five years."
The US is the only nation capable of providing China with a steady supply of milk powder, reconstituted for infant formula and other products, according to a United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) July 2014 report titled “Dairy: World Markets and Trade.”
Billy Sims-China Food Group will further its sourcing and distribution by investing $180 million to develop a state-of-the-art production plant with a daily capacity of 480,000 pounds (220 tonnes) of whole and skim milk powder. It will employ 150 workers in Michigan.
The Food Group will work with other companies to establish a food hub for the manufacture of snack foods, soft drinks, and a private-labelled salad dressing for the Chinese market, said president and CEO David Coleman.
