BMW recognizes Kennametal innovative new tooling

KENNAMETAL Inc. (NYSE: KMT) was recently honored at the 2014 BMW Supplier Innovation Awards.

The company’s innovative new tooling was cited for its role in increasing productivity in the manufacture of engine blocks at BMW’s Steyr, Austria production facility.

Kennametal, which was the only tooling supplier nominated in the productivity category of the Innovation Awards, was also recognized for its more than 30 years of partnership with BMW. It has a dedicated engineered solutions team that works with BMW on productivity-enhancing refinements. 

According to Gérald Goubau, vice president and general manager of Kennametal’s tooling business, “We are honored to have been recognized among more than 200 suppliers at BMW’s supplier awards. It is a great affirmation and reminder of our mission to provide innovation that customers value; something we strive to do every day.” 

The Supplier Innovation Award reflects the BMW Group’s emphasis on innovation as the foundation of a company’s economic success and future competitiveness.
