Borouge addresses global challenges with innovative plastics solutions

Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, showcases its latest innovative plastics products at Chinaplas 2012, the largest plastics industry exhibition in Asia held in Shanghai from April 18-21, 2012.

Borouge demonstrates technology and differentiated plastics solutions that serve market requirements and contribute to sustainability by addressing major global challenges. The solutions line-up includes lightweight plastics for automotive components to reduce CO2 emissions; plastic food packaging for preserving food and extending its shelf-life; insulation for cables enabling access to energy transmitted through power grids; and polyolefin pipes providing secure access to water and sanitation.

Borouge’s polyethylene and polypropylene solutions showcased at Chinaplas for pipe systems, energy and communication networks, automotive and advanced packaging industries include: BorECO BA212E, a high modulus polypropylene block copolymer (PP-B HM) natural coloured material specifically designed for the production of non pressure sewage and drainage pipes; BorSafe HE3490-LS-H, a high stress crack resistance PE100 pipe compound, for gas and water supply pressure pipes; RG468MO,  the first high-speed PP random copolymer which provides up to 20% productivity gain for rigid packaging converting industry; excellent transparency with good aesthetics and hinge properties; Homopolymer Cast PP manufactured with Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT) giving it high isotacticity and enhanced film stiffness, allowing film down-gauging with high heat resistance and good optics with excellent water vapour barrier properties; Random Cast PP grade optimized for metalizing applications; glossy metalized surface finishes and strong aluminium adhesion, and cost effective solution versus higher cost terpolymers; and Borstar enhanced and bimodal polyethylene blown film, together with Borclear polypropylene blown film RB707CF used in advanced flexible packaging.

State-of-the-art polypropylene compounds improving the quality of automotive components and reducing car weight are also on exhibit.
