Borouge and Borealis showcase innovative plastics solutions at Plast Eurasia 2012

Borouge and Borealis demonstrated their wide range of solutions that contribute to addressing the sustainability, processing and end-use performance challenges of Eurasia’s manufacturing sectors at Plast Eurasia exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey, from November 29 – December 2, 2012.

H.E. Saif Al Shamsi UAE Consul General in Istanbul, Turkey, visited the Borouge’s and Borealis’ stand at Plast Eurasia 2012 exhibition and met with representatives from the two companies who briefed him about their contributions in supporting the global plastics industry. Borouge’s representatives in the exhibition included Hussain Sultan Lootah Senior Vice President Middle East Africa, Hazeem Al Suwaidi Vice President Sales Middle East Africa, and other senior marketing and sales officials.

Advanced applications, which are making everyday life easier were put on display at the two companies’ stand. These applications made of Borouge’s and Borealis’ polyolefin solutions enhance product capabilities and aesthetics whilst delivering time and resource savings to plastics processors and end product manufacturers for the advanced packaging, healthcare, mobility and infrastructure sectors. Incorporating the latest polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) materials, the featured applications reflect Borouge’s and Borealis’ commitment in supporting high quality and differentiation alongside more efficient and environmentally sustainable manufacturing.

Responding to meet the increasing market demand for more customer convenience and design-appeal in the advanced packaging sector, both companies introduced their two new PP compounds for film transparent applications Borpeel WD955CF and Steripeel WE950CF at the exhibition. Other new grades such as BorPure RF490MO, BorPure RJ766MO and Bormod BH381MO were also presented at the stand. They use the proprietary Borealis Nucleation Technology (BNT) for improving the properties and performance of PP for rigid lightweight packaging and enabling greater productivity through faster processing, energy savings and moulding cycle time reductions.

In addition to their lightweight moulded packaging solutions, Borouge and Borealis presented their full range of Bormed polyolefins, which meet the challenging needs of primary pharmaceutical and diagnostic packaging for the healthcare sector.
