Borouge officially inaugurated on 6 October 2013 its new Training Centre in Ruwais. This new facility aims to provide technical support and talent development to its employees thereby enhancing the Company’s commitment to the sustainable development of its workforce, the petrochemical industry and the region. The inauguration ceremony of the new high-tech training facility was attended by H.E. Abdulla Nasser Al Suwaidi Director General Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mark Garrett CEO Borealis, Rashed Saud Al Shamsi Petrochemicals Director ADNOC, Abdulaziz Alhajri CEO Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge), Wim Roels CEO Borouge ’s Marketing & Sales Company, Board Members from Borouge as well as senior representatives from ADNOC and its Group of Companies and other dignitaries. Borouge’s new Training Centre, the first of its kind in Ruwais, was completed in July 2013 with excellent HSE performance, recording ZERO lost time injury (LTI) incidents. The state-of-the-art facility features five briefing rooms (technical training, electrical and instrumentation, process olefins, process polyolefin and mechanical), six large classrooms, a high-tech computer-based training room (e-Learning, multimedia and HSE), two multifunction rooms and a general meeting room. Technical training is also provided in various disciplines including mechanics, machine condition monitoring, valve shop, electrics, control, warehousing, analyzing and fire gas technician process.
