The third edition of SIAL Middle East officially opened its doors on November 26, with His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, the Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority at the ribbon cutting ceremony in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

This year, over 1000 manufacturers and suppliers from 52 countries are exhibiting at this three-day event. More than 15000 visitors are expected. On its first day, the SIAL Middle East conference began with a discussion on the potential growth of private labels in the GCC. There is room for much growth in this sector as consumers are becoming more selective. Amongst panelists were Victoria Hassani, managing director of Global Market Access ME, and Maurice van Vliet, CEO of privatebelter.com.

The show is open from 10am – 6pm on November 27-28.
