California brings top brands to NPEA 2012

LOS ANGELES and HONG KONG – Nine California companies will exhibit their products at the Natural Products Expo Asia 2012 (NPEA) from August 23-25 at the Hong Kong Convention Center.

“We are seeing a lot of global growth for California Lifestyle products, particularly in Asia,” said Jeff Williamson, director of the California State Trade and Export Promotion program “Consumers are increasingly focused on quality and products and services they can trust. They are also looking for innovative products and solution – the California companies at NPEA excel in this area.

Exhibiting in the U.S. pavilion, California companies include: Reeds Inc. – a leading specialty beverage company that makes old-fashion ginger flavored beverages; Perfect GEMS – a maker of pomegranate arils; Goldennest – a trusted supplier of swallow next products; Harvest 2000a leading manufacturer of soup mixes and soy prebiotic protein shakes; Jarrow Formulas, a formulator of high-quality nutritional and dietary supplements; KLG USA and exporter of frozen food, cheese and extended life milk, and other warehouse club products; Robinson Pharma, a fill-service private label and contract manufacturer of nutritional supplements and OTC medications; and Skin Nutrition, a ground breaking skincare company focused on preventative aging.

The Natural Product Expo Asia is a premium platform to connect with industry representatives, find new suppliers and customers in the rapidly growing consumer markets in Asia. Asia is set to become the locus of global consumption spending which will expand the already sizable health-conscious consumer segments.

California companies are well positioned in this marker space leveraging the California Lifestyle image that embodies the concept of healthy living, coupled with the quality standards that consumers demand. California’s platform also provides the ability to tap into tastes and preferences of the Pacific Rim, due to its sizable Asia population, and strong trade linkages.

Who would have thought that we would be making Chinese specialty foods in the United States and selling to China?
