For centuries, garlic has always been a beneficial ingredient medicinally. A new study from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) suggests that garlic oil might complement cancer treatments, as it may ease the adverse effects of chemotherapy and ionising radiation.
In the study featured in the Journal of Food Science, garlic oil is said to reduce the lowering of white blood cells affected by chemotherapy and radiation treatment in mice with cancerous tumors. However, IFT has yet to determine whether garlic oil could reduce the effects induced by other chemotherapeutic drugs used to treat cancer patients. (Photo ? Adam Ward I Dreamstime.com)
